Cookies Policy

This page explains what cookies Codezilla uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We've tried to write this in plain language because we believe you shouldn't need a lawyer to understand how a website works.
1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a tiny text file that a website saves on your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) the first time you visit. The next time you come back, the browser sends that file back to the website so it can recognise you, remember your settings, or keep you logged in. Cookies can't read your hard drive, can't run programs, and can't carry viruses on their own — they're just small pieces of text.
Some cookies are essential for the site to work at all (for example, to keep you logged in). Others are optional and help us understand how the product is being used so we can improve it. We treat those two categories very differently.
2. The cookies we use
We split our cookies into two buckets: strictly necessary (the site literally doesn't work without them, so they don't need your consent) and optional (we only set them if you say yes on the consent banner).
| Name | Purpose | Where it's set | Expiry | Strictly necessary? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-access-token | Keeps you signed into your dashboard. Issued by Supabase, our auth provider. | app.codezillaeg.com, admin.codezillaeg.com | 1 hour (auto-refreshed) | Yes |
sb-refresh-token | Lets us renew your session quietly so you don't get logged out every hour. | app.codezillaeg.com, admin.codezillaeg.com | 30 days | Yes |
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers whether you prefer the site in Arabic or English. | All three domains | 1 year | Yes |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare's bot-management cookie. Helps us tell humans apart from automated traffic and block abuse. | All three domains | 30 minutes | Yes |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare challenge token (only set if you've completed a security check). | All three domains | 30 minutes | Yes |
cz_cookie_consent | Stores your answer to the cookie banner so we don't ask you again on every visit. | All three domains | 6 months | Yes |
_plausible (planned, not yet active) | Anonymous, aggregate analytics — no personal data, no cross-site tracking. | codezillaeg.com | 24 hours | No — needs your consent |
Until you opt in, no analytics cookie is set. If/when we turn analytics on, you'll see the consent banner first and you can decline.
3. Cookies we don't use (and don't plan to)
We think this matters enough to spell out:
- No Facebook Pixel. We don't share your behaviour with Meta for ad targeting.
- No Google Ads / DoubleClick. We don't run remarketing campaigns against you.
- No Google Analytics. If we add analytics later, it'll be a privacy-friendly tool like Plausible (or our own self-hosted version) that doesn't profile individual visitors.
- No third-party advertising networks. Full stop.
- No "social media" share-button trackers that phone home before you even click them.
We make money from SMB subscriptions, not from selling data about you or your customers. That's the whole business model.
4. How to manage cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies. Here are the direct links:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari (macOS/iOS): Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Heads-up: if you block our strictly-necessary cookies, the dashboard will stop working — you won't be able to stay logged in, and your language preference will reset every time you visit.
5. Withdrawing your consent
If you previously agreed to optional cookies (analytics) and want to take that back, go to /cookie-settings any time and flip the toggle off. We'll delete the optional cookies on your next page load. You don't need to email us or fill in a form.
You can also delete the cz_cookie_consent cookie from your browser directly, and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit so you can re-choose.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies, change providers, or update how anything below works, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes (for example, adding a new analytics tool), we'll show the consent banner again so you can review your choices.
We don't email you every time the policy changes — but if the change affects how we handle personal data, we'll notify account owners through the dashboard.
7. Contact
